Ferrypoint Cottage "A unique location"
The Ferrypoint cottage is located in the historic seaside area of Youghal, Co.Cork on the sunny south-east coast of Ireland.
The cottage stands on a peninsula with the Atlantic ocean to your left and the River Blackwater to your right.

This century old cottage has been totally renovated into luxury accommodation while still retaining it's old world charm. Finished to the highest standards, and impeccably kept, you're be delighted by luxury of this spectaculat holiday home for two.

Places to go and things to do!
We have a large number of unspoiled beaches spanning the coastline surrounding the ferrypoint offering swimming, sunbathing, coarse fishing, sea angling, canoeing, sailing, scuba diving, wind surfing & water sking.

Youghal and The Irish Riviera
Just across the harbour is the historic walled resort town of Youghal, just 200 yards by boat, but a 6 mile drive around the lovely estuary. Youghal is a beautiful and historic town with lots to see and do. The small seaside village of Armdore is closer, with its fantastic beaches, round tower and 7th century abbey, restaurants and pubs. The surrounding areas of Cork and Waterford are right at hand and present other great days out. Making Ferrypoint Cottage the ideal base to tour the south of Ireland.

I find it hard to find the words to describe the beauty of the location. Ferry point is a sand bar that projects into the river Blackwater as it joins the sea at Youghal. There are just two cottages here, and water on 3 sides. set out of the cottage ona onto teh beach to stroll, swim or fish. "Words cannot express how pleased we were with this property. Astounding panoramic, 360 degree, picture postcard views-- virtually surrounded by the river bay and the ocean. The cottage was lovely and well-equiped for cooking and dining-- perfect for two people. Cottage provides privacy but yet close to Youghal ammenities. Also, short drives to Ardmore, Lismore, etc. The owner/caretaker was responsive to our needs. Would definitely stay again and would recommend to others needing a quiet restful getaway."

"A peaceful haven to recharge ready for the real world again! Very comfortable, warm and well appointed. Have already recommended it to friends and hope to return to share it with my beau one day! Thank you."

"For the second year running our holiday was better than the "brochure". Ferry Point Cottage was just what we needed; peaceful, secluded, well presented and extremely comfortable. It's unique location, virtually surrounded by water on three sides, was idyllic. The bird watching, boating and walking "brigade" should make this a must; you virtually have your own private beach. This was our first visit to Ireland but it will not be our last."

"The cottage was comfortable and the view superb. If the fire worked and the back door opened and there were a separate table and chairs for dining, it would be even better."

"Very nice location. The property is well finished and well maintained. Ideal for a break at anytime of the year as I would imagine different seasons would bring out different aspects of the location."

"The cottage is in a beautiful location, with stunning views from the front. Good base for exploring. Very peaceful, and it is perfect for those who love watching people playing in boats. Table and chairs to eat outside would be useful, and clear guidance to which facilities can be used at the rear of the cottage would be beneficial."

"Lovely cottage in unusual location at end of peninsula facing Youghal harbour. Beautifully and thoughtfully renovated - the web pictures don't do it justice. Very well equipped - only missing a cd player and microwave. Expensive considering size of property and that it only sleeps 2. On the downside although it sounds idyllic and quiet, there's not much privacy in that you are facing the owner's cottage and there is a public road running alongside used by boaters and walkers. But otherwise excellent and ideal base for exploring the area and we enjoyed our stay very much - and judging from the comments in the visitors book so have many others."

"The location and cottage were just what we were looking for. If one is seeking a location to relax during the off season this place is perfect. My wife and I are considering a revisit next tear during January."
